About

Property tax is all we do.

Crawford Property Tax is an independent consultancy focused on one thing: making sure Texas owners aren't paying more than their fair share.

The firm is run by Michael Crawford, a Registered Property Tax Consultant. Every case we take on is protested by a licensed professional, start to finish.

Built on district knowledge and the evidence to win.

Most owners never challenge their assessment, and many of the ones who do arrive without the evidence to win. That is the gap this firm exists to close.

A protest isn't won by how strongly you feel about your bill. It's won with the right preparation, put in front of the right people, by someone who does this for a living. That's the part most owners can't do on their own, and it's the part we handle.

We work commercial and residential appeals side by side, so whether it's a shopping center or a family home, it's familiar ground. The two inform each other more than most people expect.

Every owner deserves an assessment that reflects reality, and someone in their corner who is paid only to make that happen.

What we stand for

Four principles

Registered

Registered Property Tax Consultant, State of Texas.

Focused

Commercial and residential appeals, and nothing outside that lane.

Local

A Texas firm, not a national call center that routes you to a stranger.

Aligned

Contingency based, with no minimum fee. Our win is your win.

Where we work

We file across Texas.

We take protests in every appraisal district in the state, from the DFW metroplex to the smaller rural counties. Wherever your property sits, we can file where it counts.

Each appraisal district works a little differently, keeps its own calendar, and staffs its own review board. Knowing how each one runs is most of the job, and it's something you learn district by district.

Under Texas Tax Code §41.47(b) the review board can't set your value higher than the amount on your notice as a result of your protest. It comes down, or it stays the same.

Send us your appraisal notice and find out what a protest could do for you. The review is free, and you're under no obligation.
